福山樣區標定 樣區遠眺

1.以台灣低中海拔之常綠闊葉林為研究主題，藉由固定大型樣區的設立，進行長期之生態研究，其主要目標有三：（1）首先為基礎的植物種類調查，包含木本植物、草本植物、藤本植物及著生植物，以了解物種之多樣性；（2）樣區森林之特性探討，包含營養鹽循環、凋落物分析及分解；微環境對森林造成的影響，如迎風坡背風坡之差異、植種生育地分化之機制；（3）樣區植群的演替或更新，包含林冠孔隙調查、小苗調查種子庫調查、樣區複查與演替模式分析等。自1989年至今已分別設置一些永久樣區，包括位於南仁山自然生態保護區內的欖仁溪（5.2公頃）、南仁湖（2公頃）、南仁山（2.1公頃）及一樣帶（1公頃），位於中部中海拔地帶的北東眼山樣區（3公頃）以及位於北部插天山的羅培樣區（1公頃）及鎮西堡的針闊葉林樣區（2公頃）。已完成之研究課題包括南仁山低地雨林：（1）樹種的組成和分佈類型；（2）林隙更新之研究；（3）小苗動態及地被層植物組成之研究；（4）海拔梯度與植被組成、結構、歧異度及分布類型的關係；（5）短期森林動態之研究；（6）凋落物量及其養分含量之研究；（7）葉片結構及營養鹽含量之研究；（8）生物量之研究；（9）凋落物分解之研究；（10）優勢樹種林木生態生理學之研究；（11）樹冠垂直結構之研究；（12）南仁山區低地雨林木本植物社會之短期動態。其他尚包括北部插天山的羅培樣區及中部北東眼山樣區樹種的組成、族群結構和分佈類型之研究。目前正進行新竹鎮西堡檜木樣區及宜蘭福山地區25公頃樣區之設置工作。

2. 台灣地形複雜，氣候多變，加上地理位置介於熱帶及溫帶之間，故面積雖小，卻孕育出豐富之植物資源。台灣產之維管束植物類別計233科、1389屬、4216種，特有的植物達1041種之多。台灣大學植物標本館創立於1929年，自成立以來，即積極展開台灣及其鄰近地區諸如華南、東南亞、太平洋島嶼等之植物標本的採集，及與世界各大標本館交換標本，目前館藏標本約25萬餘份，涵蓋台灣維管束植物95%以上的種類，另收藏有植物學上最珍貴的模式標本約1000份。為有效掌握台灣植物資源之類別、特性、分佈地點、數量，以做為物種鑑別、教育研究；保育經營及永續利用之依據，目前本研究室正與標本館共同進行館藏標本資料之數位化，其數位化之內容包括（1）模式標本之高解析度影像；（2）其他標本之中解析度影像影像；（3）標本詮釋資料之建檔；（4）臺灣植物誌六卷文字及插圖之數位化；及（5）網頁及查詢系統之建置。
