近年研究主題

植物水分輸導構造與功能 探討特殊植物的適應策略、演化和生活史 蔓藤植物多樣性與蔓藤植物生態 寄生植物形態、分類、物候性、分布及傳播研究,寄生植物與寄主間的水分競爭。海岸植物之研究:大甲溪口草澤植物區域分佈之調查及蒸散日變化適應模式研究


研究室簡介:植物功能形態研究室

國立自然科學博物館的維管束植物切片、木材和臘葉標本之蒐藏、製作、維護及管理,主要研究以水分輸導構造及功能為主,並深入探索特殊植物的功能形態及其生活史,由三類特殊的植物群來探討:

1. 藤本植物:這一類植物缺乏自我機械支持,比較其與親緣近的喬木或灌木的構造與功能,探討演化與生態適應。另建置楠溪流域永久樣區的蔓藤生態研究,做長期生物互動及森林演替的探討。

2. 寄生被子植物:由寄生植物與寄主間的水分競爭,探討水分輸導構造與功能在二者間的優劣點。另由寄生植物的形態、分類、物候性、分布及傳播研究,探討寄生植物在生物圈所扮演的角色及其演化。桑寄生植物除了臺灣和華南地區、海南島等採集外,進行系統分類及地理分布的探索。並與長庚大學共同合作天然藥物資源的分析,將桑寄生植物的萃取生化物質比對應用,提供化學分類和藥理試驗的深入研究。

3. 受環境壓力之植物:如海岸植物-由沿海為鹽份高、可利用水少的環境中,探討植物適應惡劣環境時,根、莖、葉水分輸導構造與功能的關係。另如高山植物-由於冬季凍期時沒有可利用水,植物必須防凍、防旱,並於來春恢復輸水能力,這衍生的連鎖反應機制使其才能生存於此特殊環境。

其他如食蟲植物的捕蟲構造的形態與演化探討,相關「花」主題的探索與應用,包括參與蝴蝶蘭花香構造的研究,推廣介紹花的起源研究,出版「花的前世今生」、設計製作光碟、學習網站和協助「花的傳奇」教案。
